The Story of Life’s WORC

Active contributors to local charities for the past 20 years, the employees of Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates have built a strong history of giving to worthy organizations in and around the New York metropolitan region, particularly to organizations that support individuals with disabilities. Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates’ employees have donated to Garden City’s Life’s WORC, which serves those with developmental disabilities and autism.

Founded as Women’s Organization for Retarded Children, WORC began with a group of volunteers seeking to expose the questionable ethical practices of Willowbrook State School, an institution for developmentally disabled children on Staten Island. Together with investigative journalist Geraldo Rivera, these concerned parents and friends spearheaded widespread lobbying efforts to provide children with proper housing, attention, and emotional support. Life’s WORC then opened several homes throughout the greater New York area and added a broad range of social and community services in the process.
