The Nassau County AHRC Foundation was established to support programs for children and adults who have intellectual and other developmental disabilities. AHRC Nassau has worked for over 60 years to offer services and support to more than 2,200 individuals with special needs.Through the foundation’s programs, individuals are provided with opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed.

AHRC Nassau provides prevocational assistance, employment support, and volunteer opportunities for program participants through the Freeport Vocational Center, AHRC Nassau’s Supported Employment Department, and the Community Hubsite Program. Prevocational services, presented through the Freeport Vocational Center, teach a range of skills necessary for employment in any field. Supported employment helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to integrate into the workforce within their communities. The Community Hubsite Program encourages volunteerism efforts among those served by AHRC.
