The Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association is looking for attorneys interested in volunteering and providing pro bono work. HVBBA membership offers attorneys inside information about bankruptcy law and proceedings, as well as opportunities to use their expertise to help others who cannot afford legal assistance. Attorney Michael A. Fakhoury of Fishkill, New York, and Daniel B. Wade of Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates, P.C. oversee the organization.
The HVBBA is open to any attorney or employee in the legal field who is passionate about bankruptcy work. Members are entitled to a reduced fee for the annual New Deal Conference, which outlines the latest legal developments that affect bankruptcy cases, provides information from clerks and courts about new procedures in bankruptcy law, and offers tips on best legal practices. Additionally, members may attend the annual Luncheon Seminar Series, where experts discuss legal developments. Recent luncheon topics have included an e-order pilot program, procedures for getting orders signed successfully, and ethics and fees for attorneys in consumer cases.
