Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, New York, has received the Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in recognition of its commitment to outstanding nursing care. The designation also distinguishes Mercy Medical Center as a great place for nurses to work. It is one of two hospitals in New York and the only one in the region to receive the designation.
To earn Pathway to Excellence status, Mercy Medical Center went through a rigorous review process that looked at the hospital’s initiatives to create a positive work environment for nurses. The Mercy Medical Center nursing program is built on a foundation of caring and compassion, and all Mercy nurses are part of multiple decision-making committees called Shared Governance. The model encourages nurses to work at a high professional level and emphasizes values, research, and evidence-based practice, along with strong relationships with other professionals in the medical field.
The hospital offers competitive salary and benefits packages to nurses and promotes continuing education through a clinical ladder and monthly educational presentations.
