Touro Law Alumni Win Seats in 2014 Elections

A number of Touro Law Center alumni were victorious in the 2014 elections, winning judicial and legislative seats. Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, a member of the class of 1991, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 4th district. Rice, who served three terms as district attorney, is known for her efforts to reduce drunk driving. Her work to eliminate one of Long Island’s most high-volume drug markets and to investigate reports of cheating on college entrance exams received widespread publicity.

Three Touro alumni won re-election to their state legislative seats: Kenneth Lavalle, class of 1987; John Flanagan, class of 1990; and Joseph Addabbo, Jr., class of 1992. Alfred Graf, class of 2002, was re-elected to the New York State Assembly representing south-central Suffolk.

Touro alumni who won judicial seats include Anna Anzalone, class of 1986, who was elected to the state Supreme Court. Thomas Rademaker, class of 1996, and Rachel Hahn, class of 1987, won seats on family courts in their counties. Jennifer Henry and Terence Murphy of the class of 1993 were elected to judgeships as well.

Several attorneys at Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates, including partner Kelly Ann Poole, are alumni of Touro Law Center and continue to support the school’s leadership and educational programs.
