With operations in more than 20 countries, CFCA began as a lay movement among Catholics seeking to provide aid to those in need. Over the past 30 years, CFCA has expanded to include over 250,000 sponsors whose efforts directly impact the lives of 300,000 children throughout the world. Its Hope for a Family sponsorships, priced at $30 a month, work to integrate material gifts within a family-centric context. The organization works with a range of participants, including both young children and the elderly, specifically focusing on community integration efforts and family-building activity. Rather than simply providing material goods to those in need, CFCA strives to encourage lifelong opportunity and enrichment through education, activities, and community engagement. The organization also provides scholarships, health and sanitation initiatives, livelihood programs, and disaster relief services.
